THE AMAZ<\/a><\/span> promoted, between April and May of 2021<\/span>, a Business Call with an interest in acceleration and investment.\u00a0<\/p>

As a result, received 156 entries,<\/b> coming from 19 states and also from the Federal District, 43 of them from Amazonas and 25 from Par\u00e1. S\u00e3o Paulo and Rond\u00f4nia register 20 and 9 entries, respectively.<\/p>

Most of the registered projects are in the business organization phase<\/b>,<\/span> and also seeking traction. Although the call notice indicates that the initiatives should be in operation, even if in the initial stages, to participate in the selection, businesses in the idea or idea validation stage also applied. Of the 156 registered businesses, about 20% declared to have already been accelerated.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

Between the directly impacted value chains<\/b> The businesses registered include a\u00e7a\u00ed and other palm trees, sustainable tourism, nuts, handicrafts, cocoa, oils and butters, sustainable wood, guaran\u00e1, coffee, pirarucu and other fish from the Amazon.<\/p>

In 35 of the registered businesses<\/b>, the community where the enterprise is located or the region of origin of the raw material is a relevant partner of the business. AND in 66 of them<\/b> the community is consulted, although it does not participate in the decisions and management of the business.\u00a0<\/p>

In 73.2% of them (112) there are women in leadership<\/b>, and in 67% (105) there are indigenous or black people in leadership<\/strong>. The age group of registered leaders has the highest concentration among 30 and 44 years old, <\/b>but there are people between 19 and over 60 years old.\u00a0<\/p>

The registered businesses are also connected by all 17 ODS <\/b>(Sustainable Development Goals) of UN 2030 Agenda<\/b>, with the number eight most frequently triggered (decent work and economic growth), followed by 12 (responsible consumption and production).\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Most of them, 61, declare that they have no practice of monitoring the impact they cause, but 38 of those registered declare to collect and analyze process and\/or business operation indicators; 16 of them claim to have defined socio-environmental impact\/result indicators, while 29 report taking decisions based on impact assessment.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cThe diversity of the registered businesses, in terms of impact, impacted value chain and team, draws us a lot of attention. From this sample, we can see that there are already businesses that are generating solutions for what we have been calling the \u201cnew economy for the Amazon\u201d, based on forest conservation, development of local communities and valuing the Amazon bioeconomy and socio-biodiversity\u201d, evaluates Ana Carolina Bastida, responsible for AMAZ's investment and portfolio management.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Most of the initiatives have as a business model B2C <\/b>(final consumer as target audience) \u2013 107 of them declare themselves as such. As a result, 80 businesses declared to have as a model B2B <\/b>(sale to companies), and 64 of them B2B2C <\/b>(companies that partner with other companies to reach the consumer).\u00a0<\/p>

Many of them<\/span> operate in more than one business model<\/b>, and companies B2G<\/b> (sell to public agencies) and C2C<\/b> (direct negotiation between consumers).<\/p>

As for the legal nature<\/b> of the registered enterprises, the presence of limited, simple and joint-stock companies, cooperatives, associations, individual entrepreneurs, individual micro-entrepreneurs and individual limited liability company (EIRELI) are registered.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Of the 156 subscribers, 04 have sales in the range of R$ 501 thousand to R$ 1 million; 02 between R$ 1.1 million and R$ 2 million; and 02 between R$ 4.1 million to R$ 10 million. And 52 of them have sales between R$ 1 to R$ 50 thousand. Which is compatible with the registered business profile, mostly in the organization or traction phase.\u00a0<\/p>

The sum of the annual turnover of the 156 registered businesses is around R$ 32 million,<\/b> and their total investment demand is R$ 218 million<\/b>.<\/p>

They are young business<\/b>, having mostly between 01 and 05 years of experience.
