AMAZ promoted, in 2022, its second Business Call with an interest in acceleration and investment.<\/span><\/p>

As a result, received <\/span>96 entries<\/b>, coming from <\/span>15 states and also from the Federal District, 26 of which originated from Amazonas and 20 from Par\u00e1. S\u00e3o Paulo and Rond\u00f4nia registered 10 and 5 registrations, respectively.<\/span><\/p>

As in the previous year, the Call made it possible to register from states other than those located in the Legal Amazon, as long as they offered solutions for the Amazon and committed to starting operations in the region within six months of the start of the acceleration.<\/span><\/p>

Most of the registered enterprises are <\/span>in the business organization phase <\/b>and also looking for traction. Although the Call notice indicates that the initiatives should be in operation, even if in the initial stages, to participate in the selection, businesses in the idea phase or idea validation also applied. Of the <\/span>96 businesses registered, about <\/span>40.5% declared to have already been accelerated.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Between the <\/span>value chains addressed directly by the business<\/b> are socio-environmental products and services, handicrafts, sustainable art and fashion, food products, technological solutions for attracting investments, blockchain, oils and butters, a\u00e7a\u00ed and other palm trees<\/span>, <\/span><\/i>etc.<\/span><\/p>

In <\/span>20 of the registered businesses<\/b>, the community where the enterprise is located or the region of origin of the raw material is a relevant partner of the business. AND <\/span>in 45 of them<\/b> the community is consulted, although it does not participate in the decisions and management of the business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In 71.8% of them (81) there are <\/span>women in leadership<\/b>, and at 84.3% there is <\/span>black and indigenous people in leadership<\/b>. The age group of registered leaders has the highest concentration among <\/span>35 and 39 years old<\/b>, but there are people between 19 and over 65 years old.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The registered businesses are also connected by <\/span>all 17 OD<\/b>S (Sustainable Development Goals) of the <\/span>UN 2030 Agenda<\/b>, with the number eight most frequently triggered (decent work and economic growth), followed by 12 (responsible consumption and production).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Of the 96 registered participants, 24 declared that they had no practice of monitoring the impact it causes, but 36 declared that they collected and analyzed process and\/or business operation indicators; 12 of them say they have defined socio-environmental results\/impact indicators, while 13 report making decisions based on impact assessment.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Most of the initiatives have as a business model <\/span>B2C<\/b> (final consumer as target audience) \u2013 61 of them declare themselves as such. Subsequently, 53 businesses declared having as a model <\/span>B2B <\/b>(sales to companies), and 40 of them <\/span>B2B2C <\/b>(companies that partner with other companies to reach the consumer).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Many of the initiatives operate in <\/span>more than one business model<\/b>, and companies <\/span>B2G<\/b> (sell to public agencies) and <\/span>C2C<\/b> (direct negotiation between consumers).<\/span><\/p>

As for the <\/span>legal nature<\/b> of the registered enterprises, the presence of limited companies, simple and anonymous, cooperatives, associations, individual micro-entrepreneurs and individual limited liability companies (EIRELI) is registered.<\/span><\/p>

Of the 96 subscribers, 64 have revenues in the range of R$ 1 thousand to R$ 500 thousand; 06 between R$ 501 thousand and R$ 2 million; and 02 between R$ 2.1 million to R$ 10 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The sum of the annual revenue of the 96 registered businesses is around <\/span>R$ 13 million<\/b>, and their total investment demand is <\/span>R$ 22.5 million<\/b>.<\/span> Of the registered businesses, <\/span>42 have between zero and 2 years of experience.<\/span> <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Businesses more aligned with AMAZ\u2019s impact and investment thesis<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The application process was more detailed this year for the business, with the inclusion of a video pitch, cash flow analysis and an investment model. This allowed for a better understanding of the <\/span>adherence of each business with AMAZ's investment and acceleration thesis<\/b> right in the first stage of selection.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cWe received business proposals with greater alignment with AMAZ's impact and investment thesis compared to the previous year. These are businesses that best fit the scope of the socio-environmental impact that we are looking for, and also that have the potential to gain scale in the territory\u201d, analyzes Ana Carolina Bastida, investment and acceleration manager at AMAZ.<\/span><\/p>

Among the applicants who best fit the impact thesis, there are more businesses led by people residing or originating in the states of the Legal Amazon compared to the previous year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
