THE <\/span>AMAZ<\/span>, a sociobiodiversity business accelerator operating in the Amazon, promoted, between March and April of this year, its third Call for Business.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As a result, receive<\/span>ok 112 entries, coming from 17 states, <\/strong>being 27 of them originated from Amazonas and 26 from Par\u00e1<\/strong>. S\u00e3o Paulo and Amap\u00e1 registered 13 and 11 registrations, respectively.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Call allows entries from states other than those located in the Legal Amazon, as long as they offer solutions for the Amazon and commit to starting operations in the region within six months of the beginning of the acceleration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Most of the projects entered are in the development phase. business traction or organization<\/strong>. Although the announcement of the Call points out that the initiatives should be in operation, even if in initial phases, to participate in the selection, businesses in the prototype, pilot or MVP phase also signed up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Among the value chains directly addressed by the business are socio-environmental products and services, technological solutions<\/strong>, a\u00e7a\u00ed and other palm trees, food products, art, crafts and sustainable fashion, oils and butters, etc.<\/span><\/p>

In 7 of the registered businesses, the community where the enterprise is located or the region of origin of the raw material is a relevant partner of the business. In 69 of them the community is consulted<\/strong>, although it does not participate in the decisions and management of the business.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0AND in 20 the community has seats in formal councils or committees<\/strong> to participate in decisions and management of the business.<\/span><\/p>

In 84%<\/strong> of them there are women in leadership<\/strong>, is at 77%<\/strong> There are people black and indigenous women in leadership<\/strong>. The age group of registered leaders has a higher concentration among 35 and 39 years old<\/strong>, but there are people among 19 and over 65 years old<\/strong>.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The registered businesses are also connected by all 17 ODS<\/strong> (Sustainable Development Goals) of the UN 2030 Agenda, with the most frequently triggered number eight (decent work and economic growth), followed by number 12 (responsible consumption and production).<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Of the 112 registered, 19 declare that they do not have any practice for monitoring the impact they cause, but 55<\/strong> declare collect and analyze indicators<\/strong> process and\/or business operation; 20<\/strong> of them say have result\/impact indicators<\/strong> defined socio-environmental, while 8<\/strong> inform decision-making with based on the impact assessment<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Most of the initiatives have as a business model B2B<\/strong> (companies that partner with other companies to reach the consumer) \u2013 82<\/strong> of them declare themselves as such. In sequence, 80<\/strong> businesses declared to have as a model B2C<\/strong> (final consumer as target audience), and 42<\/strong> from them B2B2C<\/strong> (companies that partner with other companies to reach the consumer).<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/p>

Many of the initiatives operate in more than one business model, and B2G companies (selling to public bodies) and C2C (direct negotiation between consumers) stand out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As for the legal nature of the registered enterprises, the presence of limited liability companies, simple and anonymous, individual microentrepreneurs, individual limited liability company (EIRELI) is registered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Of the 112 subscribers, 66 have revenues in the range of R$ 1 thousand to R$ 500 thousand; 14 between R$ 501 thousand and R$ 2 million; and 02 between R$ 2.1 million to R$ 10 million.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The AMAZ team has been analyzing the registered businesses, and from the total of 112, the 20 that best fit the selection criteria will be interviewed and analyzed in greater depth.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Of this total, 10 will be selected for pre-acceleration, of which up to six will enter AMAZ's acceleration program, receiving investments of up to R$ 600 thousand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The objective is to deepen the understanding of the challenges, the main difficulties, and align what AMAZ seeks and what the business needs.
