criteria to apply for the 2024 call

To participate in the call, businesses must:

Be in operation, even if in early stages (businesses or initiatives in the idea or validation stage will not be analyzed)

The AMAZ 2023 Business Call preferably seeks businesses that:

Team and governance: 

Have an entrepreneur and team engaged in their initiatives and with in-depth knowledge of their area of expertise and market;

Have a diverse team and/or leadership, which includes underrepresented groups (women, young people, blacks, indigenous peoples, the LGBTQIA+ population and people with disabilities); 

Are headquartered in the states of the Legal Amazon and have people residing in the region in the operation.

Business and operations:

Whether they are in more advanced stages of development, operating or with a proven revenue and operating model. Only businesses with a formally constituted company or organization will be classified;

Have an innovative product, service or operating model compared to similar initiatives or businesses in their sector;

Possess potential for scale or with a replicable solution in another location;

Have clear financial viability and market potential, with an economically viable solution (product or service) and the ability to generate revenue;

Have clarity regarding financial needs and definition of investment plan.

Impact:

Have a relevant socio-environmental impact in the Amazon, directly related to the focus of the call, and that are (currently or in the near future) capable of being measured and reported by entrepreneurs;

Have good relationships and governance mechanisms with impacted communities.

impact business are those that generate or have a high potential to generate a positive social and environmental impact from their main activity and, at the same time, are capable of guaranteeing their viability and financial sustainability.

Positive environmental impacts they can be generated by technological/innovative initiatives and solutions that seek to conserve natural resources, control deforestation, combat wildlife trafficking, value biodiversity, forest restoration and/or recovery of areas.
