Promoted by the Parceiros pela Amazônia (PPA) platform, the program serves startups in Amazonas and Pará
From April 24th to 26th, Belém (PA) will host the second Workshop of the Acceleration Program gives Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA), an initiative that supports businesses with a socio-environmental impact in the region. With the participation of 15 projects accelerated by PPA in Amazonas and Pará, the event will address important marketing, market and communication techniques. The Acceleration Program began in February, with the completion of the inaugural workshop in Manaus. While the first was aimed at structuring business models and building indicators, this second meeting will focus on aspects such as the positioning of the company and the brand in the market, interaction with customers, pricing, distribution challenges and digital communication. For the coordinator of the Acceleration Program, Ana Bastida, this workshop, as well as the other three organized by PPA, was designed based on the demand that the businesses reported to the Program team. The approach of the meeting will consist of applying marketing and commercialization strategies in practice, deepening the concept of the four P's of marketing (Product, Price, Place and Promotion). “The workshop will have a very practical dynamic applied to business. The last day will be more focused on business communication, with the partners of O2 Filmes and Uni Amazônia, which will bring new communication tools for companies and also how to tell the story of their businesses, something essential”, says Bastida. The businesses selected to participate in the Acceleration Program offer sustainable solutions to social or environmental issues in the areas of gastronomy, solid waste, fish farming, meliponiculture, handicrafts, agriculture, extraction and robotics. The 15 participants in the program are Da Tribu, 100% Amazônia, Awí Super Foods, Broto Tecnologia Agrícola, Coopmel, Chocolates De Mendes, Açaí Fiber Ecopanels, Amazon Vegetable Casings, Tipiti, Manaós Tech, Onisafra, Sustente Ecosoluções, Ração Mais, Peabiru and Manioca. Most businesses work with communities of family farmers, extractivists, riverside dwellers and indigenous peoples in their production chains, or even producing positive environmental impacts in solid waste areas, with the reuse of organic waste. “It is the first time that such a strong group of entrepreneurs and startups has come together to solve socio-environmental problems in the Amazon from their own businesses. The solution to the deforestation of the forest involves the development of innovative solutions for the region's economy. The Amazon needs a new economy”, emphasizes Mariano Cenamo, PPA's executive coordinator. About PPA THE Partner Platform for the Amazon (PPA) it was created with the objective of leading the construction of innovative solutions for sustainable development in the Amazon with companies and the private sector, prioritizing investments in businesses with a social and environmental impact. In practice, PPA acts in the incubation and acceleration of entrepreneurs, in carrying out strategic studies to expand investments and through partnerships between companies, communities and governments. Currently, the executive coordination of the PPA is exercised by the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon (IDESAM), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the Amazon Conservation Team (ECAM) and the Peabiru Institute.
